Job Description

As part of the Northern California – Sacramento – Business Development Team, the Business Development Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting pursuit strategy, maintaining client connections, and performing research activities to drive viable lead development.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Three categories: Research/Strategy Development, External Engagement, and Internal Regional Support)
  • Support in developing the Sacramento Area’s business development and marketing strategy and business plan
  • Assist in identifying and researching new business prospects, potential strategic clients, competitors, and teaming partners
  • Perform lead tracking by monitoring lead services and client websites daily for new business opportunities
  • Maintain computer database of all client opportunities, existing and potential clients
  • Assist in implementation of early sales strategy for opportunities that address client requirements and gaps
  • Working in coordination with Corporate Marketing, serve as business development point of contact in the coordination of Area’s local proposal preparation efforts, liaise with Area’s pursuit team, including Director of Business Development, Area Manager, and Executive Director(s)
  • Support in the preparation of the Area’s interview teams for client interviews, liaise with Corporate Marketing team on the preparation of interview materials
  • Support with conducting post-solicitation debriefs on wins and losses
  • Maintain calendar of local industry events that Vanir staff is participating in
  • Support the Area’s preparation for and representation at various local and national industry events, as needed including those that occur before/after normal business hours
  • Support coordination of convention/exhibit activities, including speaking engagements, hospitality suites, sponsorships of special events
  • Supports various political and charitable company initiatives, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or tech related field
  • 0-5 years in A/E, Construction, Project Management and Construction Management business development
  • Knowledge of proposal life cycle and advanced skills in proofreading and editing copy
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Familiarity with CRM and database platforms such as Deltek Vision, VantagePoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of Adobe software (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong working knowledge of principles of strategic planning, marketing, relationship based sales, and business development/marketing in public sector for construction projects, is preferable

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $66,560-$70,000.
