Job Description

The Office Engineer reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for assisting with managing the scope, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for the project. The Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.).

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project team in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required.
  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system.
  • Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s). 
  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, airport administration, or other related field
  • Five years or more experience, preferably on airport projects or environments
  • Experience supporting Multiple Award Task Order Contracts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Experience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PM Web preferred
  • Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications.
  • May assume other duties as required/needed
  • Maybe required to work various shifts as needed
  • This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site 
  • After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $85,000 - $91,500.
