Job Description

The Senior Project Manager provides the overall planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule in the healthcare sector. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, project/construction managers and other assigned staff. This position is based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Primary contact and liaison for owner and principle partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables
  • Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and consults with Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project
  • Ensures contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with construction/project requirements
  • Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities
  • Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings
  • Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout
  • Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
  • Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
  • Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements
  • Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent technical area of study.  5+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
    • Or, Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business disciplines such as business administration, accounting/finance or management.  7+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
    • Or, non-degree holders must possess 9+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
  • Excellent organizing skills required, detail-oriented
  • Strong technical abilities, including use of MS Project, Excel, and other construction management software for daily tracking and weekly reporting on process/program management
  • Experience with managing vendors and installers and tracking daily progress is required
  • Ability to manage sequencing of deliveries to coordinate with construction readiness
  • Coordination with hospital user groups for scheduling installations
  • Familiarity with hospital safety and infection control procedures
  • Registration as Architect, Engineer, and/or GC license is not required if candidate has equivalent construction management skills and training
  • Must possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices
  • Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings
  • Ability to represent Vanir and related entities in a professional manner at all times to ensure company policies and procedures as well as compliance to all applicable laws and regulations
