Job Description

Vanir is currently seeking a Senior Scheduler to join the team. This position will be based in the Los Angeles, California area and support projects in the Public Sector. 


The Senior Scheduler will be instrumental in integrating best practices and project deliverables while interfacing with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Contractors to monitor and update schedule and cost resources. As Scheduler, this individual will be responsible for performing highly complex construction scheduling activities and will provide technical direction to the scheduling staff engaged in planning, scheduling, monitoring, progress analysis and reporting.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist project team in defining construction tasks, durations, milestones, completion dates, etc.
  • Site visits will be required to understand the project scope of work and assist Project Manager in defining construction schedule.
  • Develop Project Master Schedule and periodic updates.
  • Monitors work progress, as related to the schedule.
  • Review contractor's schedule and ensures that an accepted schedule is finalized.
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules for renovation work. Schedules will be created for individual projects and also for mini-programs.
  • Provide impact analysis of schedule changes, identify schedule variances and opportunities and proactively develop mitigation strategies for the team.
  • Work proactively with the Project Managers and other leadership to resolve schedule inconsistencies and maintain appropriate reporting structure for activities/ milestones.
  • Provide all services and objectives to ensure the quality of Vanir’s services.
  • Perform other duties as required. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as engineering, construction management, architecture, project management, or equivalent technical area of study.  
  • 10+ years experience as construction scheduler.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project is required.
  • e-Builder experience is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project related systems such as Primavera, and Sure Track.
  • Should possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering and construction principles, techniques, applications, and practices.
