Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable team. This position will oversee the development, administration, and maintenance of finance policy, procedure, and operation. 


This position will be based in the Corporate office in Sacramento, California and report to the Controller or other assigned leadership. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Researches data and updates contract amounts by project, using Deltek accounting software.
  • Manages processing of all employee monthly timesheets expeditiously using Deltek accounting software or similar program.
  • Prepares various spreadsheets, correspondence, and reports.
  • Interacts closely with clients, project directors, and accounting personnel.
  • Performs A/R audit for individual projects, and A/R reconciliation for month-end close.
  • Assists with A/R collections.
  • Maintains all new contracts and contract amendments.
  • Performs all tasks to ensure the quality of Vanir’s services.
  • Manages efficient preparation and processing of all monthly A/R billings, including the joint venture partnerships.
  • Assigns, activates, and deactivates all project numbers.
  • Assists in the training, supervision, and performance evaluation of assigned staff as required.
  • Participates in development of department policies and procedures.
  • Verifies and monitors billing rates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years finance-related experience OR A.A. Degree and 6+ years finance-related experience is required (Extensive relevant experience in place of education may be considered).
  • Knowledge of record-keeping and tracking, accounts receivable/payable, budget tracking procedures, accounting records, ledgers, job cost, and related reports is required.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping/accounting/finance principles, procedures, terminology and practice.
  • Familiarity with Deltek ERP is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the construction management industry and terminology and document format is preferred.
