Job Description

Provides the overall programming, planning, coordination and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. Maintains management and project facilitation for the successful completion per compliance, contractual, owner, and Vanir requirements. May supervise office/field administrative staff, Field/Project Engineers, and Assistant Project/Construction Managers. Position is based in Seattle, WA.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of project development to include contracts, design, construction management, project systems, delivery, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements
  • Liaison for owner and principal partner entities for contracting, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables from vendors
  • Responsible as on-site liaison with contractor and oversight of construction progress
  • Coordinates and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects and related performing entities
  • Develops project specific procedures, documentation, and reporting for the project
  • Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, vendors, user groups, and other project related entities
  • Represent owner, Vanir, and related parties in public forums and meetings to include securing of all applicable building pemits
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of vendors, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
  • Coordinate, direct and monitor activities of owner’s vendors for Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment (FFE)
  • Manage project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures
  • Lead in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
  • Provide management of project logistics, organization, systems, and personnel resources
  • Ensure project closeout to secure appropriate provisions for final project delivery to owner entities
  • Provide all services and objectives for the application of Vanir’s quality services
  • Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
  • Provides management of project logistics, organization and safety
  • Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including closeout requirements
  • Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent technical area of study.  5+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
    • Or, Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business disciplines such as business administration, accounting/finance or management.  7+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
    • Or, non-degree holders must possess 9+ years of experience in medical Project Management/Construction Management, including hospital work.
  • Excellent organizing skills required, detail-oriented
  • Strong technical abilities, including use of MS Project, Excel, and other construction management software for daily tracking and weekly reporting on process/program management
  • Experience with managing vendors and installers and tracking daily progress is required
  • Ability to manage sequencing of deliveries to coordinate with construction readiness
  • Coordination with hospital user groups for scheduling installations
  • Familiarity with hospital safety and infection control procedures
  • Registration as Architect, Engineer, and/or GC license is not required if candidate has equivalent construction management skills and training
  • Must possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices
  • Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings
  • Ability to represent Vanir and related entities in a professional manner at all times to ensure company policies and procedures as well as compliance to all applicable laws and regulations
  • Certified Construction Manger credentials are preferred
  • DBIA Certification strongly preferred
