Job Description

The Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff. This position will provide support for construction management activities on a hospital project. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to standalone on a project and direct the project team.
  • Possesses design-phase, RFQ/P, bidding and construction management experience on healthcare projects.
  • Has functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to construction/project requirements.
  • Ability to review and negotiate change orders.
  • Manages all aspects of construction, including close-out activities (punchlist management, warranty paperwork, as-builts and all pertinent turnover documentation).
  • Has experience with database project controls software systems.
  • Provides management support for the client to coordinate, direct and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects and related performing entities.
  • Provides project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures support and administration.
  • Assists the project team with tracking of the construction progress/schedule, verifying field conditions against approved drawings, processing of PCO (Potential Change Orders), Submittals and RFIs.
  • Organizes and maintain all records, correspondence, contracts, research analysis, and all other material related to the design, bidding, and construction.
  • Tracks and maintain logs of submittals, RFI’s, construction change documents, change order requests, and approved change orders.
  • Certifies and track monthly progress payments.
  • Coordinates special inspections with onsite contractors.
  • Evaluates and understands basic construction means and methods.
  • Maintains project photos and daily reports.
  • Assists with scheduling of inspections.
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the Hospital / Healthcare Sector is required
  • Knowledge and application of construction contracts, contract administration, drawings, estimates, and specifications is required
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Eadocs, Prolog, Impact or similar are required
  • Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernization of hospital projects is preferred
  • Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
  • Certified Construction Manager preferred
