    Job Description

    Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to join the team in Los Gatos, California. This position reports to the Project Director or assigned project leadership. Provides planning, coordination and direction for construction management activities on new ground‐up fire station project ($10M range). Ensures project will be on time and on budget with a high degree of quality. Makes sure to fulfill the requirements of the contract. 


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Possesses functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to construction/project requirements.
    • Has experience with database project controls software systems.
    • Provides management support for the client to coordinate, direct and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects and related performing entities. Provides project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures support and administration.
    • Coordinates, directs and monitors activities of moving classrooms, offices and other school facilities between school sites.
    • Leads project meetings and issues meeting minutes for the administration and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
    • Monitors the progress of the project team and provides routine reporting (Daily reports, Weekly Progress Reports, Monthly Reports, Submittal & RFI Logs, Change Order Logs, etc.).
    • Provide administration and processing of project logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization.
    • Responsible for project closeout to secure guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to owner entities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required 
    • 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager is required
    • Experience with public projects in California is required
    • Fire station new construction experience is highly preferred
    • Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is required
    • Strong oral and written communication skills are required
    • Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required
    • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are preferred
    • Knowledge of project controls software such as Eadocs, Prolog, Impact or similar is required
    • Certified Construction Manager preferred
    • Safety training is requried
