    Job Description

    Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is currently looking for a Business Development Manager based in our San Bernardino office for the Inland Empire region. This person will work directly with the Area Manager and Project Executives to achieve both corporate and regional/area goals. Promoting the company in various market segments, through participation in trade shows, conventions, and other AEC associations and engagements, etc. Producing proposals, developing qualifications, presentation materials, and other marketing collateral assignments.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assists in the development of a five-year business plan for his/her region/area
    • Supports in the development a Fiscal Year Plan for his/her region/area
    • Supports in the development of a five-year strategic plan for market segment team(s) identifying opportunities within his/her region/area
    • Develops a draft of the marketing advertising and conference budge
    • Identifies trade shows, conventions, conferences, and exhibits in which the company will participate (in accordance with the current marketing budget)
    • Determines, coordinates, arranges and attends (as necessary) convention/exhibit activities, including speaking engagements, hospitality suites, sponsorships of special events, and displays
    • Ensures that participation in specific organizations (CASH, CSAC, ACCA, CCLC, CEAC, CSBA, etc.) occurs on a frequent, effective, and consistent basis
    • Develops advertising strategy/budget that supports and furthers our marketing efforts
    • Identifies new business prospects, making initial client contacts and qualifying prospective clients
    • Maintains database of existing clients and prospective clients
    • Involvement in strategic planning, business development (pre-RFP), and marketing (post-RFP)
    • Involvement with different AEC associations and organizations
    • Assists with various special projects as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Journalism, English, Communications, Business, Marketing, etc., plus 6+ years of experience with two years in Business Development / Marketing Coordinator-related position 
      • OR Associate’s Degree, plus eight to ten years of related experience
    • Knowledge of: The CM industry in his/her area. Generally accepted principles of strategic planning, marketing, and business development (pre-RFP), and marketing (post-RFP) in the public sector. Vanir’s business, policies, procedures, programs, and capabilities. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Effective time management skills.
    • Intermediate skills in using Adobe Creative Suite (inDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and MS Office Suite is required
    • Profiency in Cossential or similar CRM software is required
    • Professional certification as a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) is preferred
