    Job Description

    The Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Meet with the client’s customer representative to clarify, define and develop scope of work, budget and schedule requirements
    • Work through JOC (Job Order Contracting) Estimating Group for conceptual estimates per current the client’s procedures
    • Manage construction and project close-out according to the client’s procedures and company practices
    • Schedule and conduct regular construction progress meetings, budget and compliance with the scope of work
    • Identify and resolve problems and issues before they become critical and keep the client and the customer department informed of on-going project status, including cost, schedule, and other issues
    • Reporting to Vanir Management: take initiative to keep Vanir Management (Senior Project Manager or Project Director) informed of the client’s assigned projects and responsibilities for any/all customer departments
    • Deferentially work through and with Vanir Senior Managers to resolve issues – receive and promptly implement directions from Vanir management; promptly report back results

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required (Extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered)
    • 8 to 10 years of experience in leading design and construction management services with emphasis in interiors and facilities improvement required (public agency projects preferred)
    • Knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large volume of small renovation projects by oneself is required
    • The technical ability to track the status of multiple small projects simultaneously in Excel or MS Project is required
    • Experience managing Job Order Contracting (JOC) renovation projects as owners representative is highly preferred
    • Demonstrated experience in managing construction occupied facilities is preferred
