    Job Description

    The Project Manager is responsible for managing groups including clinical, systemwide, IT and externals throughout the planning and execution phase of facility activation, transition and move planning of clinical space within the hospital network, under the direction of the Program Director. The Project Manager is the primary liaison between the hospital client departments, consultants, project delivery teams, regulatory agencies, and all others required to assure the successful delivery of the project(s). The Project Manager must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and must have a reasonable understanding of healthcare facility design and construction.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develops working relationships with design team, construction team, contractors, and hospital user groups/employees to ensure successful planning and transition of each facility.
    • Host Pull Plan sessions with delivery teams, refinements thereof and report outs to track, monitor, adjust and ensure success of the activation.
    • Works with user groups to identify the required activation components and schedule their resources and time accordingly.
    • Works and coordinates with the IPMOs “move manager” and departments to identify unique move requirements and develops creative solutions.
    • Supports the IPMO Move Manager with logistics consultant in development of move plans for each department, and for clinical move activities up to the point of transition
    • Manages and monitors progress of enabling activities and the move to identify and improve methods of delivery within the departments
    • Works closely with Construction Management team to coordinate any equipment requiring early installation, commissioning, licensing, training as required.
    • Coordinates all Owner furnished Contractor installed items and equipment with Construction Management team.
    • Collaborates with medical equipment planners and Biomed on all medical equipment installations and inspections.
    • Coordinates and monitors required actions, scheduling, lead times, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction including those for clinical regulatory approvals to assure occupancy readiness.
    • Assists with developing, testing and managing all simulation activities prior to first patient. This includes code blue testing, patient transport, admission, transfer and discharge activities and clinical processes.
    • Maintains and achieves the highest standards of quality, delivery of care and service.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and behaviors related to environmental, employee, or patient safety requirements.
    • Participates in the schematic and design planning phase by coordinating clinical user groups
    • Assists in development of and manages move schedule for facility occupancy
    • Oversees the installation of new and reused equipment procured at the enterprise level, furniture, art, signage, etc. 
    • Effectively communicates project status through reporting, paperwork processing and constructively resolving project issues.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Nursing, or equivalent is required
    • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the Healthcare sector is required
    • Demonstrated autonomous decision making and time negotiation
    • Ability to assess level of effort required for delivery and guide the users to proper planning and strategy to deliver as required
    • Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills for management meetings and preparation of plans and reports
    • A high level of interpersonal skills is required to develop relationships with colleagues and clients, gain the cooperation of others and communicate effectively
    • Certified Construction Manager preferred
