    Job Description

    Vanir Construction Management, Inc. has a unique opportunity for a talented individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The position of Scheduler will work collaboratively with internal and external clients to deliver intelligent solutions to ensure quality project delivery in the Educational segment of our organization. The Scheduler will be instrumental in integrating best practices and project deliverables while interfacing with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Contractors to monitor and update schedule and cost resources. As Scheduler, this individual will be responsible for performing highly complex construction scheduling activities and will provide technical direction to the scheduling staff engaged in planning, scheduling, monitoring, progress analysis and reporting.  As a Vanir employee, you will be a vital member solving complex operational and project controls issues with a maintained focus on customer satisfaction. The Scheduler will report directly to the Director of Construction.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist ISD/Deferred Maintenance (DM) group in defining construction durations, milestone dates, liquidated damages, etc.
    • Site visits required in understand the project scope of work and assist DM in defining construction schedule
    • Develop Project Master Schedule and periodic updates
    • Review contractor's schedule and ensures that an accepted schedule is finalized and is updated on a monthly basis
    • Responsible for Contractor schedule review, reports and pay app validation
    • Develop and maintain schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for various programs
    • Monitor and actively participate on project and program issues and Earned Value analysis
    • Perform needed QA/QC on schedules to conform with program goals and various construction projects
    • Perform status updates on Program Schedule/Master Schedule
    • Proactively anticipate schedule impacts and advise Project Team concerning changes and issues on schedule impacts
    • Consult with project team and recommend solutions to improve products and services
    • Perform Program Level analysis and reporting
    • Create and manage conceptual program and project schedules as needed
    • Prepare ad-hoc reports as directed by management
    • Communicate and coordinate between individual and departments to manage the schedule and update process


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline highly desired, but not required 
    • 12 years of experience in Program Scheduling is required
    • Knowledge of using multiple scheduling softwares such as Microsoft Projects, Primavera, Suretrack, Contractor Scheduling, etc. is required
    • Experience in using SQL to retrieve data from various data sets is also preferred
    • Develop and maintain program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for various programs
    • Prior experience developing program schedules and performing critical path, earned value, and schedule impact analysis is preferred
    • Demonstrated comprehensive analysis skills including resource loading, cost loading, analyses of change orders, time extension requests and schedule impact analyses
    • Must be able to manage manage the program schedule and update process while collaborating with internal and external clients
