    Job Description

    Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is looking fro a Project Controls Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Monitor the overall integrity of the project budget and forecast in accordance with approved standard operating procedures
    • Conduct cost variance analysis of reported data to identify trends and mitigate potential budget impacts
    • Review, analysis and oversight of monthly cost reports and monthly progress reports
    • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget/timetable
    • Review invoices for compliance and proper coding in accordance with encumbrances
    • Review task order requests, change orders and amendments to ensure budget availability, accurate cost coding and reporting
    • Interact with various technical discipline leads to understand and communicate issues and conflicts that may impact the budget
    • Ensure implementation of client policies, procedures and plans regarding cost management of capital projects with multiple funding sources
    • Serve as central receiving point for all financial matters for assigned project/sites
    • Travel to offsite project locations as required
    • Other job-related duties or projects as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is preferred
    • Ideal candidates will possess 5+ years of experience providing project / program controls and construction management services on healthcare projects / programs
    • Knowledge and experience with Scheduling (CPM), project controls management, claims, and document control
    • Experience with PM Web, Microsoft Project, Primavera, or other construction document and project management systems is preferred
    • Must have knowledge and experience with construction management procedures, means, and methods
    • Ability to take initiative and create value-added solutions to integrate best practices with project controls deliverables is desired
    • Good communication, writing and computer skills are essential
