Job Description


Entering the project during the final portion of the design phase, the Senior Project Manager will first be embedded directly with our client at their office location as an Owners Representative. The project site is a few miles away and base will be moved there when ground is broken (~7 months). This is a $180 million new construction Project in the Correction Sector. We need a seasoned professional who will without instruction lead this large project. This position is for a self-starter who will lead a team and engage both the client and the GC directly. The office and project site are in the heart of Orange County, CA.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides construction management services for a large prison build project
  • Ensure compliance of contracts and adherence to project specifications for the project
  • Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction
  • Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
  • Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
  • Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
  • Provides management of project logistics, organization, and safety
  • Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including Justice/Detention closeout requirements
  • Performs other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required
  • 15 years of experience in Project Management with an emphasis on Prison builds required (Exposure to DSA, OSHPD, or large public sector projects in leu of Corrections Sector experience will be considered)
  • Strong collaborative IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) and team building skills is required
  • Strong user skills with the MS Office Suite of products and construction industry budget and scheduling tools is required
  • Ability to pass a client required background check is required
  • Experience with Justice, Detention Center, Correctional Facilities, or Jail projects in California is preferred
  • Certified Construction Manager preferred
