Job Description

The Project Manager is directly responsible for monitoring and refining the immediate short-term and subsequent long-term plans to ensure success on the project. The Project Manager will direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities in the field, manage and coordinate the flow of information, control costs, manage and control the schedule, implement and monitor the quality assurance programs, and verify that the completed work is constructed to a quality level consistent with the requirements of the construction documents. This position directly reports to the Owner’s DCD PM.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of respective discipline elements from project inception through completion of project(s)
  • Reporting and tracking of the complete Project to the DCD PM and other key stakeholders
  • Manage and/or coordinate Owner’s personnel/resources for the betterment and advancement of the project(s)
  • Proficiently demonstrate an ongoing commitment and attitude to an Injury-Free Environment (IFE) through actions and the ability to effectively mentor others thereby helping to ensure execution of an IFE program on project(s)
  • Attend and direct discipline meetings including pre-award, pre-construction, and construction progress meetings
  • Manage and execute deployment of the Owner’s Quality Assurance Plan (MQAP) for respective discipline in concert with GC’s QC team
  • Set-up QA procedures and conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure GC’s managed QC program is implemented and followed according to Owner’s construction document requirements for respective discipline
  • Review trade contracts and bid packages as well as oversee procurement process of relevant discipline trades and associated scope-of-work(s)
  • Oversee performance of respective discipline GC contractor/subcontractor including trade status, schedule accuracy and tracking, cost-control, and change management
  • Engage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) / Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) attendance and Vendor attendance to site as appropriate
  • Coordinate with the Owner, Cost Team, Design Team, and Contractors to establish, review and regularly update the Project Risk Register around their respective discipline elements
  • Monitor ongoing construction activities and provide input into potential Risk Mitigation Plans (RMP)
  • Work with Owner’s Cx Manager and CxA to ensure timely and correct commissioning process meets schedule/project requirements
  • Work hand-in-hand with the GC Commissioning (Cx) Manager to ensure a thorough Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Cx process is implemented correctly and efficiently, prior to hand-off of the Cx process to the Owner’s Level 4 and Level 5 Cx Agent
  • Work closely with Owner’s Integration Lead to insure the Integration plan, bill-of-materials (BOM) with correct quantities is being managed

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required (Extensive relevant project management experience in place of education may be considered)
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent
  • Experience in Live data centers is required
  • Knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems is required
  • Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
  • Certified Construction Manager preferred
