Job Description

This position will report to the Project Director, Project Manager or Construction Manager. The Project Engineer will provide project technical support in the areas of evaluation, coordination, and distribution of project specific information, authorizations, project performance, and status. This positon will maintain current documentation to insure project data, compliance, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate will exercise discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis to perform tasks in furtherance of organization and client needs. Communication skills are essential for negotiation and collaborating with the General Contractors and client facing meetings.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing construction management services on a hospital / healthcare project
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements
  • Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
  • Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities , and procedures required by the client
  • Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information Ensure contractor, architect, engineer, will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
  • Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization
  • Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner
  • Provide scheduling support
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure project success

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
  • 3+ years of experience working on large Healthcare construction projects or other construction experience is highly preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required
  • Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products is needed and experience with project related systems such as Prolog, and Primavera is preferred 
  • Work experience on tenant improvement projects in a healthcare occupied space environment is preferred
