Job Description


Reports to the Senior Project Manager and provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. This person will be working on a variety of renovation / Tenant Improvement (TI) project types and should have experience from planning and design phase through construction and close-out. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, and other assigned staff (including oversight of subcontractors).



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet with the client’s customer representative to clarify, define and develop scope of work, budget and schedule requirements
  • Work through JOC (Job Order Contracting) Estimating Group for conceptual estimates per current the client’s procedures
  • Manage construction and project close-out according to the client’s procedures and company practices
  • Schedule and conduct regular construction progress meetings, budget and compliance with the scope of work
  • Identify and resolve problems and issues before they become critical and keep the client and the customer department informed of on-going project status, including cost, schedule, and other issues
  • Reporting to Vanir Management: take initiative to keep Vanir Management (Senior Project Manager or Project Director) informed of the client’s assigned projects and responsibilities for any/all customer departments
  • Deferentially work through and with Vanir Senior Managers to resolve issues – receive and promptly implement directions from Vanir management; promptly report back results


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related degree is required
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in leading design and construction management services with emphasis in interiors and facilities improvement required (public agency projects preferred)
  • The technical ability to track the status of multiple small projects simultaneously in Excel or MS Project is required
  • Experience managing Job Order Contracting (JOC) renovation projects as owners representative is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large volume of small renovation projects by oneself is required
  • Must be able to manage program / project management services while collaborating with internal and external clients is required
  • Ability to work mornings, nights and weekends as project phasing may require is required
  • Ability to plan, scope, schedule, and manage all phases of facility improvement projects required
  • Prepare financial documents and reports at the program and project level is required
  • Experience managing Job Order Contracting (JOC) renovation projects as owners representative is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in managing construction occupied facilities is preferred
